CVs look totally dung and Livingston fans seem delighted and amazed that their club has got some real, actual money for getting these players off the books as well. I'll be filing them under the 'Orsi' category of signings for now then.

If that's our permanent business done for the window then I'm extremely underwhelmed by the quality of our squad to say the least.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

One of the Livi fans on P&B says it's a fee and a sell-on clause for Henk.

A sell-on clause for a player on a one-year deal? Presumably that means there's some kind of extension clause in there.

Signing what is effectively a Berwick player is a good fucking laugh. Still, Hopkin was brought in to wring blood from a stone, as it were, so here's hoping he's picked well.

OK, but at least let us see what they do before passing judgement.

Q: Do you preach the avoidance of 'passing judgment' whenever the club signs a player - including ones with a clear pedigree - or does this golden rule only apply when they seem likely to be a total haddy?

You’d imagine we’ve still got one more centre back to come in at least. Never heard of Van Schaik but I imagine Blues is primarily here as cover - we didn’t really have a creative central midfield option.

For all that you’d expect any undisclosed fees we’re paying to be along the lines of the monopoly money we got from Livingston for Tiffoney, you’d hope that Hopkin knows any player we’re paying actual money for well and is certain he’ll be good enough rather than being a gamble.

On the face of it I was concerned about having two centre backs who played for Dumbarton last season considering they conceded 60 goals in League One, but it turns out they didn’t lose a game with either McLean or Van Schaik in the team so we’ve nothing to worry about.

I know absolutely nothing about these signings, so am trusting the manager at this point. The Dutch lad’s club history does not make for good reading.

Hasn't all of his teams apart from Dumbarton for a few games been at a higher level than us?

Yes, and he had a glittering career at each of them. He was actually ever-present for Twente in the 2017-18 season, this coming after his debut campaign at ADO Den Haag where he scored 6 Eredivisie goals and won Player of the Year. For Livingston he walked off the pitch to sounds of applause at full-time in a heroic home draw with Celtic. Frankly I'm surprised they let him go at any price.

Discounting similarly brief loan spells, such luminaries as Jamie McCormack, Joe McKee and Andrew Dallas had also only been on the books of clubs at a higher level than us.

No one’s saying he’ll definitely be shite based on his lack of experience, but let’s not treat being at a higher level and making no more than one token sub appearance by the age of 21 as a good track record ether.

The reply was to someone saying the clubs he's been at wasn't a good sign. It didn't mention experience.

Your fluffing really does know no ends. These two are duds on paper, that's fact.

I never said he wasn't or will be good. I replied to a post talking about the guys previous clubs. All of them bar one is bigger than us. It was a terrible point.

Livingston are not a bigger club than ourselves champ.

That’s obviously what I’m meaning though. I didn’t think that needed stated.
