Madton
Oliver, no... tidy footballer, but bottom line is that his scoring record is rotten. He's a striker, no use to anyone if you are being outscored by midfielders season after season. How many Morton teams have been successful without having a striker that was capable of scoring double figures in a season? For me, Oliver is not an out and out striker so i don't really expect him to score double figures every season( as much as I'd like him too) He is an in the hole type player. A player who links midfield and attack, creates goals and causes problems with his movement and trickery which others can exploit. He works best when just in behind a good striker and the fact that Jai has been out for some time means he has had to change his game as we have no other striker who can play up top like Jai does. Its no coincidence that we played our best football last year when they two were playing together. If we can bring in an actual number 9 who he can play off, or get Jai fit, then Oliver is an asset IMO. He is as good as you will get at doing what he does at our level. Letting him go would be madness.

vikingTON
the fact that Jai has been out for some time means he has had to change his game as we have no other striker who can play up top like Jai does. Its no coincidence that we played our best football last year when they two were playing together. I'm not convinced that he really needed to change his game even with poorer options like Thomson or McHugh leading the line instead; Duffy is just a moron who has spent large parts of the season trying to convert him into a centre-forward; the idea of just signing an already fucking useful one at this level is beyond his comprehension right now. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Scott
Source? Unable to post the picture but an article in one of today’s papers. Says he wants to give it a go somewhere else after being here for so long. Can’t grudge him leaving. All the best to him.
El gofer
Would not be surprised if this is also the case with Lamie and Murdoch. Even Tidser. Reckon there will be a few having their last game today. 20.1.

Agreed, unless they move down south none are good enough to make the step up.
El gofer
Aye. Likely moves would be to st mirren, partick, Hamilton, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Dundee United. 5 of them will or could very well be in our division. 20.1.
Scott
This would make perfect timing for Duffy to go if the majority of the squad are out of contract. Clean slate for a new manager to come in. Saying that, I hope we can keep a hold of Lamie, Murdoch, Harkins, Iredale, Jai and Oliver regardless of who’s in charge.
BluebirdTon
Deserves a good send off today. Anyone who thinks we’ll be able to sign an equal or better replacement next season is deluded. If the rumours are true and Duffy walks then I'd give him a decent send off too. He's a good guy who's done his best and given us some good times but just isn't a good enough manager. Duffy’s taken us as far as he can which is a hell of a lot further than most in my time watching Morton.
