  1. 1. What do you think has happened with Tidser?

    • Signed a pre-contract elsewhere
    • Signed a new deal with Morton
    • Nothing
    • Don't know

Been thinking a fair bit about this shambles this morning. I don’t even know how exactly I feel. Gutted our best player is going, angry that it’s to a football club I absolutely despise - but I just don’t feel any animosity towards Tidser. Hypocritical perhaps, because if it’d been literally any other player I’d be joining in with calls for them to be punted to the reserves for the rest of the season, but I canny with Tidser. Firstly, the team badly needs him. Secondly, he’s been my favourite Morton player for years, and I’d like to believe the financial security Falkirk are supposedly offering was too good to turn down. I can’t criticise someone for putting their family first.

You’d hope if there was only a couple hundred quid between us, Tidser would still stick with Morton, but by all accounts they’ve blown us out of the water. There could be other factors too of course, ambition and playing under a semi-competent manager. Suspect that’ll all come out soon enough if it is the case.

Falkirk are always going to have more money than us, a bigger support and subsequently a better chance of success, but my god is it depressing losing our best player in decades to them, especially there’s a very real chance of them playing in League 1 next season. As others have said on here before though, even if they go down, you’d probably still back them to reach the Premiership before us.

All I can really do is hope the move is a disaster, that Tids never recaptures the form he had at the start of the season and he and Falkirk achieve fuck all. He’ll probably come back in a few years, and we’ll probably still be finishing 8th in this godforsaken division.

Tl;dr - brb crying.

Their offer couldn't have been THAT good. Also, absolutely no need to sign a pre-contract agreement. Very few players at this level actually do, could have just signed for them in the summer if it's the best offer once he sees what else comes through.

He chose to go to them. Sign the agreement, this season despite everything else that has gone on.

Dick move if i ever saw one.

Just go now Michael.

Spot on Jamie, apart from the last bit, don’t send him to Falkirk now, send him to the subs bench and don’t let him kick a ball in anger for the rest of his time here and he can go to Falkirk in the offseason, out of shape and like the player we got from Rotherham that took a full season to get match fit again !

Nonsense.

What if the deal isn't on the table in the summer? I don't blame him for going. A significant increase in salary is hard to turn down especially when Morton are (reportedly) not offering anything.

I just wish it wasn't Falkirk he was going to, and I'm sure he'd also rather it was someone else that came in with the offer, but that's the way it is.

This PCA is a serious conflict of interest for the rest of this season given the position Falkirk are in- would he really want to help relegate a team he’s going to be playing for? No chance.

Given what has gone on this season I’d have been happy to see him at anyone but those horrible b*stards. He knows exactly how the fans would feel about it.

I’d be starting Lyon more from now on, who looks an excellent prospect.

We don't know how much the increase is. It could be very little.

Snake got the best out of him. That's quite possibly a big factor for him.

Tidser strikes me as the type whos the most happy when hes on the pitch playing football and if he can get a deal with a manager he thinks can get the best out of him he might fancy that.

TIME FOR CHANGE!

Yep, that's fair. I doubt anyone over the age of 12 is that pleased about playing for JJ.

Disagree. Did he look like he wasn't trying last night?

Do you really think he will go into games with a half arsed attitude and let his current team mates down?

Serious conflict? No chance!

'Reportedly'. Has that been reported at all or just the usual Accusations aimed at the club?

And no reason to believe it wouldn't be on the table in the summer.

Also now far more likely to believe the reports that Tidser tried to force it through in January and threw the toys out when it was blocked.

Trying what? To be involved, showing for the ball and retaining posession or make a meaningful contribution to a victory against his future employers. He certainly did the former, but the latter is questionable.

Didn't even look happy when we scored.

The players won’t have forgotten what Mckinnon did to them so confirming he’s joining the snake might create tension in the dressing room, especially when Midge even liked a tweet last night about Falkirk being a bunch of c###s. Who knows what will happen, I know Tids is a top professional but he’ll be wanting to play in the championship at least next season.

Players continue playing for clubs after signing PCA all the time. Anyone suggesting he shouldn't play is only doing it out of heartbreak.

If we are to either get the playoffs or stay up then we have a better chance of doing that with Tidser, who was a hero 4 days ago at a time he had already signed the contract with them.

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

He's quite clearly the most happy doing this instead:

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

We have games against Alloa and Partick, he should definitely start in those.

Shouldn't have played last night nor should he in the next game against Falkirk.
