Today's Herald Sports: Dougie Thinks A Season Of

Ok - possible issue. But perhaps a hurdle that could be overcome - especially if they started in the lower leagues, where Uefa perhaps have less governance / interest.

This was discussed elsewhere. it was a loophole that has now been closed apparently. They are not based in England and so cannot play in the English leagues at any level. The only way round it would be to merge the UK football associations and have a GB football association, and that would mean the end of the Scottish international team.

"Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."

The Div. 1 Chairmen could all come out and say no to 'The Rangers' in Div 1 keeping the fans happy etc, then vote yes to a SPL 2.

'The Rangers' could then be inserted there with Div 1 vanishing.

Has anyone thought of this scenario happening? Granted, it would a very tight timeline but I wouldn't rule it out.

Well obviously that is unlikely - but rules change, exceptions are made etc. This is Uefa we're talking about. No doubt a few brown envelopes of Swiss Francs or a few contracts to this company or that company.

Lets say Celtic won the SPL by 25+ points every season for the next 10 years. That could count as exceptional circumstances and pressure may build for a route to England. Celtic are definately a much more attractive prospect on their own than Rangers would be, or both OF teams would be imo.

Why would the FA take them ? This is the same crap they have both peddled from time to time. There is more than enough competition to the EPL and Championship they don't need another mid table team despite what nonsense members of the old firm constantly spew.

Big fish, small pond they have it all in their favour, media following over themselves to pass on plaudits and create interest if they had to compete with similar sized city clubs they'd discover life a lot harder and when they failed criticism.

What did they say at the mythical 'meeting' they had at Alloa's ground to sort it out? That was your equally tedious taken-from-the-back-page-of-the-Record line yesterday: did your 'sources' fail you?

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
