TBH from reading it, it doesn't actually sound that bad. A majority of fans don't have confidence that the board will appoint the right person? I bet half the clubs in the country are the same.

Hiring the internet guy is a massive minter and both a stupid decision and a PR disaster but other than that it seems fairly standard.

It's just a shame that this horrible little outfit aren't going down this season; once they do however, it's curtains for them. Good.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Out of interest VT, what do you have against this little nonentity of a club?

Well last time I checked, the greater Manchester area has an abundance of shitty little nothing clubs, that torn-faced Manchester United fans could have tried to get into, if they weren't able to get over their ludicrous bitching and whining about the Glazers. The delights of lower league football can indeed be sampled at just about every tier within a handful of miles from the city centre. But no: following Stalybridge, Bury, Altrincham or some other no-mark outfit just wouldn't do for a victimised, attention-seeking fanbase - they had to create their own, nauseating little mini-Me instead. And now that they've stopped winning every week, their smug attitude to other football teams and lectures about how to run a club properly have exploded in their faces. Good.

A disgusting little club; get them in the sea along with perennial, hard done to victim clubs like Wimbledon part II.

But surely thats admirable - setting up their own wee diddy team - a 'football for punks' club where aging men could pogo up and down singing 'pretty vacant' at half time etc.

Maybe they represent everything that is good about football, whilst giving us all a laugh at their expense in the progress.

Why not vent your spleen at Partick Thistle instead?  Them and thier odious supporters consider themselves to be some cuddly-toy lovable 'great Glasgow alternative' but never get the VikingTon treatment.  Why is that?

Other than some no-mark who occasionally begs for pennies on here, Partick don't have any supporters on here. I reserve my houndings for the relevant forum. I do know however that there is a FCUM supporter on here who isn't at all bothered, not one bit, by people pointing and laughing at their stupid little club's downfall. And so here we are.

The same rule applies to those Belgian no-marks.

He has disappeared this weather.

Sadly missed too.  When he was here it was like having your very own interactive 'South Bank Show' salivating about Sleaford Mods and such pish.

Haste ye back, Rainbowlaces.  :)

Nobody asked me but I'll share my reason for hating FCUM: their anti-Americanism. It was the Glazers coming in that prompted them to start the club, which would be fine if previously the club had been some kind of fan-based social club, rather than the cynical commercial operation it had been for decades. It was fine when it was "one of their own" running it as a business, but as soon as it was a "yank" they threw a tantrum.

What I will say is that at least they made a relative success of it, unlike "AFC Liverpool." AFC stands for Affordable Football Club

Much like FCUM they could have lent their support to another local club - maybe Marine, the proud old club whose ground they share - but no, someone had to draw some silly, Socialist Realism logo and get on TV.

Affordable Football Club is marginally better than A Football Club Wimbledon IMO. Though for once I'm willing to be convinced as they're both utterly tragic monikers.

I happen to know that he slithered up to the absolute hounding of Hibs on their own horrible midden earlier in the year, because he is nothing if not a gloryhunter. Safe to say then he won't be joining the rubber-faced jakies cheering on FCUM next season, now that they're not actually better than a set of utter pub league teams. They'll soon make Morton's transition from being taken over by Rae, winning the Third, charging towards the Second and then those nine months of 2004 look like a family picnic.

I believe "AFC" actually stands for "A Fans' Club" in Wimbledon's case.

That's especially tragic.
