Who'll get punted first?

Recommended Posts

You forgot to add Jim McIntyre at Dundee and of course Gary Caldwell at the luvvies - both of whom are also getting shoed on a weekly basis.

Ā

The way things are going I reckon three will get the privilege of relegating their team while McIntyre will be punted in March before Dundee l go down anyway. A truly disastrous set of management choices; and letĆ¢ā‚¬ā„¢s not forget some people wanted that fraud Caldwell to be in the running for The FamousĆ¢ā‚¬ā„¢ hotseat.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

Ā

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Whilst I wanted St Mirren to come down, I kinda wanted their manager to do well just to get it up all the media ghouls who whined about Stubbs getting rightfully punted and because they went outside the usual circle of diddies to replace him. Similar situation with us and Duffy.

They didn't go that far out of the box for a replacement though: they just hopped over to a joke setup like the failed statelet and so have ended up with the next Stephen Kenny.

Ā

The best part is that after rightly hounding Stubbs the gormless fanbase are now bizarrely determined to circle the wagons around his replacement until he dumps them at the bottom of the Championship yet again.Ā

I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, Stubbs wasn't the right man for the job. On the other, fans tend to go extremely easy on guys who've never played the game*, such as Ian Cathro, because they think "that could be me in there". In reality management is a tough business and there's no single correct formula and I can see why the media regarded this as a weird and risky appointment.

Ā

*note that having a brief career in the NI "Premiership" counts as having never played the game

No, but at least it wasn't Mark McGhee or Lee McCulloch or one of the usual ghouls that pundits fawn over.

Ā

It was just the Bunfield's version of Lee McCulloch though.Ā

As much as IĆ¢ā‚¬ā„¢d like to see it I dont know that he will, can Snake FC afford to punt him given that they could well have to pay us if found guilty.

You've misunderstood, Nacho is saying Rat won't be punted. He'll be at falkirk for the January window and beyond, most likely.

Hilarious as it is to see that wee snake Russell flounder, it's breathtaking to see King Snake continually whine about not having players of the required standard while leaving him out of the lineup every week due to what is quite clearly a personal grudge. They have a lower midtable Championship defender available in a squad of jobbers but the manager doesn't want to use him and the gormless fanbase are somehow on board with this decision.Ā

Ā

They're on course to make our 2013/14 campaign look dignified by comparison.Ā

Ā

I don't agree with that at all. Fans, normally older fans in my experience, want a name they know in the job. They then go into rose-tinted nostalgia mode and say 'well they were an excellent organiser on the park so they should be able to do the same from the dugout'. In comparison, the non-players who move into management get slaughtered and questioned in the media by guys like Kris Boyd and other rent-a-gobs. Then, if/when results don't follow the vultures circle and the narrative quickly becomes 'shouldn't have been there in the first place, couldn't win over the players, laptop manager' etc. Ex pros go into the job with a far higher level of assumed knowledge, with the media wanting guys like Cathro back in their box so they can get themselves and their friends hired.Ā

Ā

For all Cathro was a failure at Hearts, Scottish football as a whole needs more guys like that coming through and succeeding.Ā

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!Ā

Additionally, I think part of the problem for Cathro was he struggled with media duties. His personality appeared to be more suited to the background than being the main man. You also suspect some of the old pros in the dressing room were never going to take to him - new ideas!

By the time that the window opens in January,Falkirk will have played another 7 league games, taking them to 19 and over half a season's worth. At the current rate of points collected they are still very likely to be bottom of the league. The board will be shiteing it big time by then and I'm not so sure that they'll continue to have faith in Judas to keep them up.
