The couple of times Saints f***ed about with the black and white stripes (the "bib" the season after we won the cup and the "Blackburn" B&W halves) there was almost universal condemnation from the fans because of the break from tradition.

 

Since I've been supporting Saints in 77, Mor*on have almost always stuck to their traditional strip of blue and white hoops (some notable exceptions were the previous tartan effort and the "Argentina" stripes) but here you are with a tartan number again.

 

IMO teams should stick to their traditional strip designs for the home kit and if there is any experimenting to be done, do it with the away kit.

 

So, what is the feeling amongst everyone regrding the ditching of the hoops?

The tartan strip IS the away top.

The tartan strip was an away strip. Also we went for a good 5 years or something without...atleast, until our james watt effort.

it's still in my drawer for christ's sake. retro is supposed to be designs you never got the chance to wear because you weren't born the first time around.

so that's 8 years. and i bought all four, for some reason.
