Squad and transfers 2019/20

Hej

Jon Newby's only contribution in a Morton jersey was scoring the first league goal of the 08/09 season. A day marked in infamy by that mini-Hitler referee Chris Boyle, who sent off Wake for not sprinting to the touchline while getting subbed and then opted for rolling stoppage time until Clyde eventually bundled in an equaliser at about 5:15.

Sad!

Newby was terrible though.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Tbf thought he was decent

One look at his career goalscoring record on Wikipedia (which i've just had the pleasure of looking at) shows that he was in fact completely dung.

36 goals in 302 games is even worse than i was expecting to find.

Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

That's pretty grim, that. My memory of him is that he was good until he had to actually kick the ball...which isn't really any use to anybody, but it was a strange way to be bad. He seemed to know what he was supposed to do but just wasn't up to doing it.

Given every other player had a deadline to sign a new contract or get to fuck then Tidser's should be withdrawn by now anyway, bored senseless by the transfer saga over this mercenary.

Sounds like we’re his last choice. Tell him to bolt and move on.

Dunfermline were delighted to see the back of him.

They were also delightly chugging themselves silly over seeing the back of Ross Forbes in exchange FOR Andy Barrowman, so we will rightfully go ahead and disregard their opinions.

First reaction at the signing was that it's pretty poor though.

Bit of explanation in the article, rather than talking up the ability to be mediocre at multiple positions like they have done with other signings, in this instance they have spoke of other clubs misusing him by moving his position around and he got a case of the Mark russells.

We will use him as a number 9 and hope Hopkin can get more out of him than others have managed recently.

Can't help but feel we've just replaced Robert Thomson with Robert Thomson as I've never been impressed when I've saw him but hopefully he proves me wrong.

He was a highly rated player when he was younger. He's played at a good level. He's made positive moves in his career, rather than simply starting high and falling backwards.

He's also been pretty terrible for a while now. Hopefully Hoppy is right about him and can get the best out of him. By this stage it's pretty clear the kind of players that we'll be signing. They'll all look like risks - this one maybe isn't too bad in that regard.

Hoppy wants a team of giant bruisers.

Think we will be going in with the boot at long last instead of playing contactless football.

Can see us having a lot of suspensions next season!

Tids has signed for Falkirk....

If they offered considerably more money than other clubs who were in for him then he was always going to choose them.

They'll be liquidated within 6 months anyway.

Like pretty much all of our signings (Jacobs aside) we just need to give them the benefit of the doubt at the minute. Muirhead showed lots of promise not long ago (a UEFA Goal of the Season nominee included) and I do think there’s a player in there somewhere, hopefully we unearth it.

He also has some mental opinions on 9/11 which is great.

That it was actually 11/9?

Aye, presume they must have offered more than us, Dundee, ICT, Partick and Dunfermline who were all in for him!

Desperate times call for desperate measures it seems!

Dead to me now!
