There were rumours during the window that he was going part time after he graduated uni. I'd expect he'll be more open to negotiating a release now that he has a day job sorted. While I don't think he is as bad a player as his last few outings for us suggest, he would need to improve vastly before he was good enough for a full-time club. League 1 & 2 clubs can still make loan signings until the end of the month so you'd hope a part time club would be interested. If you just ‘get rid’ of a player under contract then you don’t get any funds to use. Unless there’s a team willing to sign him and he wants to leave then we’ll be paying him in full, which is his right. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. Should probably have clarified that it was the thing about Thompson being a fireman (or whatever he is) was what made me realise that Frank McKeown was the Stranraer fireman.
