#1133961 Koronavirus

Posted by capitanus on 26 February 2020 - 01:30 PM

Why do the Chinese keep creating virus pandemics and why do they always get some unsuspecting suckers to become the scapegoats to take the heat of them? It was Toronto with Sars, now with this virus its the Italians.

What the world Health Organization needs to do is consult the greatest medical professionals available, and come up with a solution. It will only cost a bottle of Thunderbird, 20 Mayfair, 4Rolls and yesterday's Daily Record. Granted the prescription is likely to be random pictures of frogs, but surely that's better than nothing?

I would be in favour of three leagues of 16, with each team playing 30 league games each.

Y'see, Albion Rovers I wouldn't shed a tear for as they have been stinking out the basement of Scottish football for an eternity and they don't contribute anything going forward to the Scottish game - similar to Cowdenbeath and East Stirling were in that respect. However, Brechin are a respectable enough club, often amongst our peers albeit they've had a few misfortunate seasons.

I don't know if I'm in favour of the Scottish pyramid if it means that shite like Kelty Hearts, who are effectively a financially doped junior outfit getting to rub shoulders with some of the great names of Scottish football like Clyde, Stranraer, Forfar etc.

#1133683 Sportsman’s Dinner

Posted by capitanus on 20 February 2020 - 09:55 PM

This type of event is normally in the ‘not for me Jeff’ category anyway, but I see that we’ve really doubled down on the ‘fitba da’ target audience this time round. Presumably all the great captains of journalism like Gordon Parks and the Poundland Pulitzer at the Tele were too busy washing their hair that night, which is why Des ‘Gormless’ McKeown eventually got the nod.

Cue hours of Hovis-themed anecdotes from ‘Roughie and Andy’ about that week in December when Morton were top of the league, and bottomless, mealy mouthed platitudes all round about what a sleeping giant we are right now.

VT viewer verdict: worse than an evening with Eddie Cairney.

Tea and coffee! Tea and coffee!

You robot!

Andy Ritchie is my absolute Morton hero but VT's spot on here, better nights are to be had at home with toothache.

Greenies all round, Gentlemen.

As you were.

The thing that pisses me off about Friday night games is the 7.05pm kick off times. That sucks big time.

Let it go mate. Nobody cares anymore.

I do.

See above. This thread has been my highlight of the season. The fact that Bollockhead has decided to align himself to the Groomed-arse and his groomer made me more inclined to continue.

Yesterday evening in the very excellent dedicated section of this ever more popular message board, the Queen of the South highlights were posted by admin at 8.48 p.m.

On that struggling default forum for wee fannies, trolls, and closet poofs, said highlights appeared - courtesy of an ordinary poster - well over an hour later, with the caption ‘that was quick!

The results keep coming in

One of Groomed-arse Gordon's many aliases is making a big deal over posting a video of QotS's highlights on their silly wee forum, a WHOLE HOUR before someone posted it on here.

This event, whilst not even measuring on the 'do I give a flying fuck' meter, has sparked celebrations in Linwood to the extent that they're really pushing the boat out - they've opened a tin of Cornbeef to accompany tonight's Spaghetti Hoops.

Watching highlights online isn't going to the game, Champ. Just let that sink in. ;)

Odd passive aggressiveness from the stewards at the turnstiles: “get yer self in quick as ye can!”

Do you enter the kids gates as well as kids competitions?

#1133332 Thread About Ex Player

He went to Falkirk for a much bigger wage and presumably has a good deal at Kelty Hearts. They were throwing money at players at the time.

And look at how that worked out for him. Enough said.

I don't think there's anyone on this board who wouldn't leave their job for almost double their wages.

There's good money to be made working with things like Asbestos but fuck doing that for a living.

There’s no doubt he'll look back at his career with a lot of regrets but, at his age, it's all about looking after himself and his family

Okay you've made an excellent case, Herbalife and Kelty Hearts it is then.

ETA: Alan, have you ever thought about being a Careers officer?

He's unlikely to get a big pay day or move up the leagues at that age. If he's getting a decent wages and gets more time to pursue a career for when he finishes with football (as most players at that level do) then it's the sensible thing to do for him and his family.
There's obviously a lack of ambition but his long term financial security will be more important to him now.

Absolute bollocks.

He could have stayed at Morton where he was highly regarded and got himself a testimonial and secure employment for another few years but no, he when to Falkirk, of all clubs. There would have been other clubs he could have moved to, but FALKIRK!?!

He deserves everything he gets, even if that means playing for some no-mark Fife bumpkins in the point-and-laugh leagues en-route to being the next Kieran McAnespie.

He must rue the day when he thought he was too good for us.

At 7.25 this morning, on a forum destroyed by trolls and fools the Morton v Dundee match thread had scraped to a total of 52 replies from 3631 members = 1.9%

On this ever more popular message board's equivalent match thread there were 53 replies from 236 members. = 23%

PPPPput that in yer PPPPpipe and smoke it PPPPporky! big grin

I was at the game yesterday and regularly had a wee look at how the forum was doing. I seen a good mix of folk on here - some at the game, some local, some overseas ex-pats, some folk who are working up north or living down south, some offshore, people viewing the forum whilst at work etc. Overall, a good mix of people. The beautiful people. REAL Morton supporters. It was good healthy debate about the game as it was played out, and a real joy to read as always.

In contrast, the Groomed-arse forum only had ONE solitary post during the game, from Dyer himself, which stated that Dundee were 1-0 up. No mention of our equaliser. No mention of anything else that happened during the game until the BBC boy filed his match report. Funny that, isn't it? Not even QuickDraw or any of his imaginary 'Cowshed Bangers' even posted anything during the game. Why was that?

Maybe it was that solitary Dyer post that had someone rejoicing at the back of 7 on a cold Sunday morning. For that reason I am so glad it happened.

Same time next week, Gordon?
