Morton vs Alloa

Recommended Posts

Looked like two bookings without the yellow being shown the second time, but given that referee yesterday who knows?

If the second yellow wasn't shown then surely it was a straight red after a booking. Silly boy.

Still an expert on the game though.

Ooft, someone's hungover and a bit catty this morning

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

So, we're good in attack and if we sort the back line we could have a good season. Fair enough assessment?

Pretty much. If we stop leaking stupid goals I think we’ve got a decent chance of the playoffs.

Fearing Saturday a bit though, suppose it’s pretty much a free hit.

Don’t think anyone would be suggesting that he’s become Buffon overnight, but if he’s given a chance (while we don’t have anyone else in his place) and the ironic cheers disappear when he catches a ball and given even a ripple of applause instead (which did happen yesterday) it might just help the boy.

Look what happened to the young boy (for the life of I can’t remember his name) that played in goal under Ally Maxwell. Although it was Maxwells fault for putting him in that position in the first place

How can it 'look' like something that wasn't there to see?

Like most, just assumed it was a second yellow.l as that's what I expected to be coming when the ref went again but just a red was shown so straight red.

If it's a straight red, can it be rescinded if Graham can prove that the referee is in fact a complete incompetent prick?

Why would it be rescinded?

Incorrect giving the goal or not Graham wasn't sent off for merely saying the ref got it wrong. He was sent off for screaming at the ref and probably foul and abusive. Regardless of the circumstances, he is guilty of his offence.

Because refs are shite and I want them to suffer.

We have also just uploaded our own highlights.

While it's progress from the club - so I don't want to be unreasonably harsh - it's the same video feed as Alloa used. You can tell by watching the first goal: after Bob scores, the camera zooms in on one of the main stand pillars in a very distinctive way before panning to the left. It's identical in both videos.

Alloa have 11 minutes of highlights with team lines, graphics, clock, score, commentary (the fact that the guy pronounces McHugh as 'meeugh' notwithstanding). We have none of those things. We have four minutes, most of which is either the teams celebrating, or walking back to take kick-off.

Some people might prefer the minimalist approach, admittedly, but once again we're poor relations to a part-time team.

Still, it's progress - we have some match highlights. Little steps.

Both teams poor defensively but we're actually really good going forward at times. Some of the balls sprayed across the pitch were a joy to watch.

And I saw someone saying Nesbitt wasn't creating enough earlier in the thread. I thought he did very well for both the first and the fourth goals. And all credit to McHugh for the finishes, too.

Still a work in progress but there are encouraging signs there. If Hopkin can shore up the back line the way he wants to, we have reason to be optimistic.
