Malt
Whilst it was the lowest league in scottish football, you only need to look at the Ross County game to see he was an absolute handful for them. If we won the third and second back to back, and he continued his great form with no implosion, you have to think he could have gone to a much bigger club and brought us a sum and add ons. Too much too young maybe or just a sheer indiscipline by him, who knows. Would be a fantastic read if we could get his perspective on where it went wrong. Ray Von
Anyone remember the article about him in which his mum said his girlfriend asked her what she should get him for his birthday, and she said to her “just give him his hole, it doesn’t cost anything and he’ll be happy?†
TONofmemories
His maw was a bit of alright IIRC. Used to see her at the Q&A events in the town hall. TIME FOR CHANGE!
Malt
He was such an exciting player that you always expected/anticipated he would score. The demise was such a fall. Did we ever get a proper explanation why we loaned him out then let him go?
AyrshireTon
Anyone remember the article about him in which his mum said his girlfriend asked her what she should get him for his birthday, and she said to her “just give him his hole, it doesn’t cost anything and he’ll be happy?†I remember that, plus chatting to his parents in the Norseman before games. His mum once told us that she had her glass eye swallowed by their dog and had a bit of a wait to get it back again. Craig Coyle's dad was great for getting team gossip - could never keep his mouth shut about anything. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up. Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control... That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie. HamCam
AW was an exciting prospect but failed to realise his potential. We knew he was a bam when he signed but the swagger and ability to score in the lower leagues ensured he became a fan's favourite. Sadly, AW never kicked on and towards the end looked to be a bit of a one trick pony as teams worked him out. Still think with good coaching and loaning the lad a couple of brain cells he could and should have made more of his talent.
The Bewilderedbeast
I remember being in the office at Cappielow and saw a series of drawings, in green crayon, of a wee stick man scoring a goal. I asked if someone’s child had drawn it only to be told it was Alex Williams self portraits.

Are you referring to the Scottish Cup match? If so I seem to recall they were 2 divisions above us.
Malt
Are you referring to the Scottish Cup match? If so I seem to recall they were 2 divisions above us. Yeah. He proved that day he could cut it with a goal and the other he tried to claim. He was all over them. You look at him now, 36, same age as Millar. Polar opposite careers. One went on to win the Scottish cup, ten years with st Johnston, top tier, Testimonial etc Williams ends up in the jail.

Despite the rain lashing down on us behind the goal, that was a tremendous day out. McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
