TRVMP
Building on this kind of thing with local companies can only be a good thing, IMO. Unless they Morton it, which is sadly a possibility. Ah well.
TheGoon
https://gmfc.net/2019/07/16/win-a-car-for-a-year/ So who's buying a season ticket for a chance to win a base model VW Polo... For a year!!! BishopBrennan
Hearing it’ll go 300 hectares on a single tank of kerosene. You've been absolutely gagging to use that quote on here for years. Jamie_M
Won't be buying one myself but it's still saving whoever wins about £2000 on what they'd pay. Pretty daft idea to sell it as winning a car though when it's a one year lease. Not sure who is doing the twitter updates but would assume it was an error on their part. Someone had posted on P&B a few weeks prior that it was a car for a year.
vikingTON
Comedy OG after some good play from Sutton. The long overdue return to Ironsball is like a crisp, palate-refreshing sorbet after the shan, slow, possession-based ‘philosophy of football’ drivel we had to put up with last season at least. 2-0, Dumbarton are Berwick-level bad right now. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

TheGoon
Statement from the chairman - https://t.co/3NTKQmLYLY Nothing of any real note, other than him saying he feels the “divide†between the club and the supporters has been successfully bridged. Can’t say I really agree with that. We’re making steps sure, but there’s still a large amount of people (quite rightly) disillusioned with Morton and it’ll take much longer to fix that relationship. That's how I read it at first, but going back to it I think he's just saying that it's something that's been identified and being worked on rather than that it's job done. It's a bit vague, but it's a start if nothing else. Interesting too he talks about different ways to generate income, which is a bit of a novel idea down Cappielow way. Let's face it, pretty much every aspect of the club has been a bit shite for years so the mere fact that McKinnon has at least identified some of the issues is a positive sign. Toby
My bad. We’ve not heard from Crawford in a while actually. In fairness, if the Chief Executive is doing his job properly, we shouldn’t really need to hear from the Chairman. It probably says more about Warren Hawke than it does about Crawford Rae and Dave McKinnon that you’ve noticed Crawford has been quiet of late, though. I was talking with somebody today actually that had dealings with Hawke (a non-Morton fan) and described him as “a complete fud of a man†so pleased to see it’s not just the fanbase that thinks that of him. Bobbyton
Wasn't sure where to put this but saw on twitter that big Sutton was on Rock Sport Radio last night talking about why he came out of retirement. It is the first 30 minutes of the podcast and he came across very well, talking positively about the club. https://podcasts.apple.com/ph/podcast/talking-football-wednesday-17th-july/id1317617356?i=1000444713490 The main points from Sutton were: the professionalism is now night and day compared to last season. Players have breakfast and lunch together which didn't happen before. Management team are big on nutrition The club are installing a gym at cappielow new changing rooms new physio room new dug outs Chief exec doing well and making a difference Focus on bringing in youth and pointed out Strapp and Lyon doing well. Other boys in the pipeline He came out of retirement due to Hopkin and CEO persistantly planting seeds that he is in too good condition to not still be playing Looking forward to playing his old club Motherwell on Friday. Hopkin is integrating the development and first teams so it's one big squad helping the youth players develop Spoke well about morton being a sleeping giant and that we should be aiming to get to the premier league worth a listen

Jamie_M
Thought there would have been more push this week on season tickets seeing as it was the deadline to be entered into their big incentive to win (a wee loan of) a car. Not that I need or want the prize, but I did try to get mine sorted on the site yesterday. Had 3 different Web browsers open and not one of them could get past the phantom select a seat bit. Obviously, plan B to phone Cappielow was met with 'nobody here to take your call'.

Obviously, plan B to phone Cappielow was met with 'nobody here to take your call'. Exact same happened with me. Went to renew yesterday before getting to a blank screen where I was to select my invisible seat apparently! They can't even get the basics of taking fans money right ffs. I know ill miss games but was happy to buy one yesterday to show some loyalty! After today, I'm not even going to bother phoning next week. Much more professional this year though.... SpoonTon
When I renewed I eventually got it to work through Firefox because it just bypassed the seat selector page when I went to the checkout. It seems to work better on chrome on my phone. It really is mind-boggling that they haven't got this sorted. The website is a complete horror show. GiGi
I'm a bit glad I've not renewed now. Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'
