On point 2, he's publicly stated they won't pursue it anyway so they wouldn't be getting anything either way.

The point is that's he's clearly got feelings for the club as there's no real advantage for him to stick around keeping things ticking over.

Do you think the Rae family have been a success during their time in charge?

He wants out but no one wants to buy is clearly the issue. All eggs in Easdale basket!

That doesn't really make a difference to this argument but I don't think it's been a resounding success or failure. We've been about our natural level.

I think people are underestimating how much influence Dougie had as well though. It was pretty much a one man show for most of the time.

Just because GC aren’t going to demand £2 million they’d never get back anyway doesn’t make it irrelevant. That remains the key piece of leverage that they have in any future buyout. Perhaps they’ll get some of the land instead; or maybe we’ll be playing at The Millions Stadium for the following ten years. There are many possible get-outs that offer something to GC - but without the debt, that deal doesn’t happen. Which is why Dougie didn’t just write it off in the first place. So if you think that GC’s major shareholders would let that disappear just because Crawford wanted to rage quit then you’re as deluded as those who thought he’d inherit the lot in the first place.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I'm taking him at his word where he says it's in the books only, won't be perused because it's not there and it wouldn't be looked for from any investor and there would be no blockers for investment.

Until such times someone puts that to the test, I don't have any reason to think he's lying.

So why’s it still on the books then? If you’re serious about finding an investor and don’t care about the debt at all then the first thing that you’d do is clear it. GC - quite understandably - aren’t willing to give that up without getting something in return.

And once again, you seem to be living under the delusion that Crawford Rae owns the club: GC owns the club. And Crawford doesn’t own GC either. So what he wants is only one voice among many interested parties - indeed Crawford’s lack of control over the situation is precisely why we are where we are.

I'm taking his word and explanation on it, yes.

As chairman, Crawford Rae does the bidding of the club’s owners so his personal word counts for nothing in this matter.

One man with 88% is unhealthy and a dictatorship.

Well I'll take his word and explanation over people on here.

Yes because that worked out so well for his three year plan.
