Still really hoping for an experienced goal scorer. Hope this new signing is decent but having McHugh, Thomson, Jai and MacLean as our strikers doesn't fill me with confidence.

Yeah, pretty much what i was saying yesterday.

If we want to push on, we need a guy that will score 15-20 goals.

TIME FOR CHANGE!

Some feedback from Motherwell fans on him;

"I think he'll be fine in the Championship.

I always saw him as a quite natural successor to Cadden at right midfield for is but that's kind of gone out the window since we've had a reasonable amount of success with a back 3 with wing backs. He's never a wing back and there seemed to be a ton of options ahead of him in the central area.

I'd say he's probably best described as an attacking midfielder. He could easily do a job as a #10, right mid in a 442 or as part of a 3 in a 433.

It'd be a shame if that's it for him with us because he's not actually done that much wrong in his time. However at his age he 100% needs games so this seems like a good move for him. I notice we've got a recall option for him after 6 months."

"Yeah, bit disappointed with how things worked out with MacLean tbh. Any time I see him, he looks great, seems to be a fit guy, just hasn't been given much more than a sniff. Hope he does well and is recalled at Christmas."

Jai is only ant good if he is fully fit, if he ain't willing to commit by the end of the week I would look for other options and maybe someone who is not as injury prone. Morton have stood by him but there comes a point when enough is enough.

I have no compunction in saying that if some chap starts throwing grenades or starts using pistols, we shall kill him

Mark Russell removed from the official site.

Offski? Or just removed because he was listed as a defender and both he, and McKinnon, admitted they don't know his best position.

With the squad beginning to fill up it would make more sense for us to look at using that wage for a position that needs more attention like a centre half, winger or natural goal scorer (we seem to have a lot of forwards now if MacLean classed in that bracket though).

Obviously we get compensation if he goes elsewhere if we’ve offered him a contract, I’m guessing if “our deadline” for a decision from players isn’t met and we take the offer off the table, does that free them up to go for nothing then? This might be very simple, and I’m missing something 😂

Partick fans think he’s pish. Hope he does well here though.

A player that Partick fans were happy to see away. Underwhelming.

We'd have done better by targeting one quality target instead of having competition between two average options.

Patrick fans may well be looking at these pages and thinking the same of O'Ware

Do you have a realistic target in mind?

While I don't think this is the end of the world, Bell is much more highly-rated than Scully. But I trust the judgement of the manager nonetheless.

I see we've once again reached the point of the transfer window where anyone who says anything less than 100% positive about any signing is compelled to produce a list of alternative signings, as if fans have the same level of resources as an actual fucking football club to identify players.

I'd imagine it would be seen as a deadline for acceptance and failing to do so by that deadline would be classed as rejection, rather than offer withdrawn, and therefore compensation still payable.

It's not our place to choose the targets.

However, the manager's first choice was a clearly higher level target and we hoped for someone of similar calibre. Scully is a significant step down from that.

Bell and Gaston being our keepers, it would more than likely have been Bell number 1, Gaston backup.

With Scully and Gaston being our keepers, it will likely end up being Gaston number 1, Scully backup which is disappointing to those that would like to see better, not the same, in the goalkeeping department.

To be fair, he doesn't even have a realistic target for getting his hole either. Sad.

Not at all, I just wondered in this specific case whether or not there was someone in mind. If we went for Bell and didn't get him so be it as I think he would have been an upgrade. Scully when I have seen him play looked very decent and I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes our first choice.

Plenty of suggestions are made on here as to players we should chase or not and 100% posivity is difficult to achieve.

I'm not paid to scout European professional football for keepers who aren't getting gladly waved out of the door by Partick fucking Thistle, so no.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are
