Ayr v Morton - Saturday 3rd August - Match Thread

The league is finally upon us and its time to see how we compare to the other teams in the league.

Hopefully the weather holds and we take a decent crowd down with us, fancy us to take something from the game but we should be aiming for 3 points here, but it will be a tough game especially with our lack of confidence in the goalkeeper.
Whats your predictions, I'm going for Ayr 2-3 Morton

Possible starting 11
Ramsbottom
Tumilty
Grant
McAlister
Strapp
Jacobs
Lyon
Miller
Nesbitt
Cadden
Sutton

Subs
Wylie
Salkeld
Blues
McHugh
Van Schaik
McGratten
Muirhead

Orsi and McLean may still be injured or not 100% yet, also a chance of Strapp joining them on the injury list.

Hopkin will serve his one Match ban at this game aswell.

Edit - it's the Ayr player who is suspended not ours

Im making perfect sense, your just not keeping up.

Lewis Strapp at morton Community camp today. Introduced as being injured. Not playing on Saturday.

Not good at all. Jim has looked extremely ropey when filling in on either flank.

Would it be worth sacrificing Cadden as part of the front 3 to fill in there?

If Armstrong didn't do enough when we had no centre backs in the squad at all then I wouldn't be thrilled about him landing a deal now off the back of a minor injury backlog. We've made enough weird panic signings for one window I think.

Moving to a back three with Cadden as wing back seems the most logical solution. Hopefully McHugh also drops out with that change of system, as a nicely taken goal doesn't change the fact that we were wide open with both him and Sutton on the park on Saturday.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Strapp trained this Morning apparently with Brian McLean & hopefully both will be at least on the Bench if no reaction from both in the Morning... No other injuries apart from Orsi & Pearson... Hoppy Suspend from the Dugout for one game...

Only if he can bring his mobility scooter.

Gives me flashbacks of Mel Bottiglieri running up the wing and then needing a taxi back into position.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.
