TRVMP Posted August 6, 2019 Share Posted August 6, 2019 Whether appropriately or not a number of footballers have been found guilty of crimes, got a non-custodial sentences , and continued to play (Paul McGowan being the most obvious example). If Quitongo is available on a lowish wage then he would give us another option. However under no circumstances should he be signed at the expense of a couple of quality defenders. Yeah, this is true, but there seem to be degrees of acceptance around this. Nonces find it harder to get back into the game, for example, whereas folk who just batter someone in a taxi rank generally don't suffer much by way of consequences. We've already panic signed to fill up the squad and look what that has given us: a terminally slow/crocked McLean; a woeful van Shite who we paid real, actual money for and that totally useless Berwick ringer. What is left from the original budget (or just what is now available from MCT) has to go now on the right players - genuine quality that this squad is solely lacking - rather than any sort of quick fix. If we have utter donkeys playing tomorrow then the issue is not failing to sign more players this week but rather failing to do anything at all in June and then signing haddies as the campaign loomed. The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before.. So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away.
