Morton vs. Dunfermline - 5/10/19

Another great moment was pretty much our entire team sitting on Ramsbottom’s right for a goal kick, and him inexplicably punting it towards the Cowshed and the entire team having to change direction.

He did that with about 4 kicks in a row in the first half. He just couldn't get the technique right and kept hooking the ball to the left. Hoppy was going crazy at him.

I didn’t make the game, but one thing I noticed was we must have had a good spirit to come back from a late disallowed goal followed by conceding a goal to scoring a 94th minute equaliser. That may not rate that highly on football manager, but in real life it’s pretty good team spirit!

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Gave yesterday a miss. Can’t be bothered with the nonsense of having to join two slow moving queues to get into a game. Convinced it is costing the club thousands of pounds at every home game... idiotic.

Just fuck off and don’t come back then.

I'd forgotten about that - it ended up going out for a throw in. The general reaction near me was a mix of "FFS" and laughing at how bad it was.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Clearly your overall fascination is with speed and pace, what moves quicker in your eyes the turnstile queue or the two central midfielders you’ve been berating for 2 seasons?

Thousands?

Well, if even 50 people don’t go because they can’t be bothered joining two queues... what’s 50 x £20??

I believe that way more than 50 people a week give games a miss because of ticketing arrangements - particularly in bad weather. Comfortably amounts to the annual salary of an extra player.

No chance of that either.

The ticket situation is a shambles but there’s no drop in attendance to demonstrate Zhivago’s nonsense ‘point’.

I've not been to a league game yet but tbh it's got nothing to do with the ticketing system.

Only going by the fans I personally know. Since the new turnstiles came in they have missed more games than in any previous season going back decades - purely because of the extra time and hassle of getting into Cappielow. It’s enough to put folk off when they’re deciding whether or not to go to a match.

So, my ‘point’ is absolutely valid. How many it impacts, I cant say for sure, but 50 plus would seem fairly conservative, especially on a miserable wet day.

Miserable wet days have been putting people off going to games for over a century, ffs.

Which rounds up to the grand total of 'nobody', as you're a gormless, egg-chasing berk who nobody likes.

No it isn't, because your latest, made-up anecdote doesn't tally with the hard facts provided by the attendance figures.

Thanks for playing anyway.

The ticketing system was in place last season, was a pain in the arse and yet crowds were steady enough. The only significant change in play right now is that the club unwisely hiked up the season ticket prices, uptake slumped as a result, which means that more people are in the position of picking and choosing their games every fortnight. The lowest crowds of this campaign will be a hell of a lot lower than last season's based on that factor alone.
