When you see them all listed, it's a pretty low bar to clear.  Was Peter Weatherson not a right back for us in the last ten years?  Seem to recall he did OK there & was he not even our top scorer one season while playing at RB?

"Any nation given the opportunity to regain its national sovereignty and which then rejects it is so far beneath contempt that it is hard to put words to it."

I'm really struggling with this one, those selections really are shite. I liked McGuffie at right back, Doyle was a limited player who got a harder time of it than he deserved, Kilday struggled at right back but it aided his development into an excellent centre back before his injury.

Fuck this.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

IIRC he played right back in the Second Division title winning season (06-07) then for a season or two in the First Division. I don't think he stayed at right back into this decade.

I went for McGuffie, on account of I remember him moving there and having a pretty decent spell, and he also isn't any of the others. He'd also get in on the basis of - allegedly - being a bit of a crackpot.

Drink driving and a bit of domestic abuse wasn't it?

Weatherson did have a run in defence - moving between centre back and right back - for a few months under Moore, but was up front other than that. Michael Miller’s another who had a bit of a run there, but there’s no chance anyone’s voting for either of them anyway.

McGuffie, Doyle and Pepper are the best of them, but were all decidedly average with noticeable flaws. Kilday and Reid were both much better centre backs than right backs.

From that lot it’s McGuffie, but as with the left back selection it shows that you’d have to have a back three if you were picking from scratch rather than going for a set formation. You wouldn’t be far off 10 centre backs more deserving of a place than Iredale or the right back options.

Full backs are shite.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Not listed here as it wasn’t his actual position but I feel that Pepper was just as good as any on the list to slot in to the right back role. That may say more about what we’ve had available there more than anything though.

Don't know if he has been added since you posted, but Pepper is listed. I agree with what you wrote and he got my vote.

Nah, we're just shite at them.

I don't exactly see the next iterations of Cafu rampaging up and down the flanks elsewhere at this level.

Discounting Tumilty and Welsh who are still here, McGuffie is the only one of these players who chose to move on himself rather than being released.

Obviously Pepper’s was over fitness rather than ability and Reid was only released after choosing to leave then coming back months later having failed to find another club, but yeah, really doesn’t say much for the right backs we’ve had.
