This is correct but over the course of a long campaign you need someone to keep morale up. Plus he trolls the media into apoplexy, which damages their coverage. He has a role to play. Liaison officer he ain't, though, that much is true.

Only the artistry of our very own El Presidente Libertador (c. 2019) can make that vacuous bint May look like Neil Lennon; an absolutely furious mess on the touchline.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Oooooooooft. This is what he was born to do. He's the most eloquent troll in the British Isles. What a guy. If he's not on some currency or stamp on independence day we're as well just disbanding the country.

The combination of the exaggerated Scottish accent at the start, and the wee smirk when he sits down... he knows exactly what he's doing (as the yoons might say, "he's doing it deliberately").

Now, the thing is, May's response is completely correct. The referendum passed and there's no way not to invoke Article 50 now. But all Salmond did was tee up that response: hey, May - your party shat itself from Ukip, launched a referendum it wasn't ready to fight, and now we're in a constitutional crisis wherein the constituent countries* are kicking up a stink and the mother of Parliaments itself, English-dominated, is almost equally divided.

He's making them own the negative side of what they're about, and that's the biggest win of all. It's amazing nobody thought of it sooner, really.

And there's no way to describe her invocation of 2014 as anything other than "verge of tears" tbh. The little jab at the end made neither grammatical nor practical sense. And there's the boy Lec, smirking and gently bobbing his head.

Glorious. It won't win any converts, but for people somewhat on his side and wavering, that's going to warm the cockles. This is what he's for. He's a leader of men.

Reading the British press is a struggle but if there's any brilliant seethe please post it here.

Just to be clear - my personal opinion of Gibraltar is that it is British, the overwhelming majority of the population wishes to be British and was born British, and as such British it should stay. Spain has a right brass neck trying to "reclaim" it - they have no claim to it other than proximity. The Treaty of Utrecht is very clear, and perhaps if Spain hadn't overextended its European holdings and then had some bogus inbred royal war in the first place none of this would have happened, and they would still have the rock to this day. But they don't, and nor will they.

However.

I see the Yoon press is up in arms about Mike Russell's comments on the Territory. He said it's "perfectly reasonable" for discussions about Brexit to involve the status of "future access" to Gibraltar. This is apparently awful news it's siding with Spain.

Well, first of all, it's not - it's recognizing the reality of the situation, which is that Spain has a bug up its ass about Gibraltar and likes to take any opportunity to bring it up, a bit like their Hispanic buddies the Argentines with the Falklands. It's also recognizing the fact that access to and from EU territory from the UK in the absence of Single Market membership does have to be discussed if you want it to remain the same. Why wouldn't Spain use this as a bargaining chip?

But by far the most important part is that Russell no doubt remembers the Scottish independence referendum, where we were confidently assured by smirking yoons that Spain would block our EU membership because they didn't want to encourage Basque or Catalan secession. Never mind that any actual pronouncement on the subject from actual Spanish officials said the exact opposite. You lot were waving Spanish flags and chanting PLVS VLTRA because you could get one over on the Scots. All the while ignoring the fact that Spain had for years been bullying British territory!

Yoons, you have reaped what you have sown. You guys started this, you guys brought Spain into this in the first place. The Scottish government owes you absolutely nothing in this, but it's had the decency of pointing out the realpolitik. Ignore it at your peril.

A good idea and solution would be to base Trident in Gibraltar, as it would be closer to Muslim countries, Spain and Argentina. And Africa. It would also fuck up the economy of Helensburgh.

Discuss.
