Surely he'd have his sights set much higher than Morton, but I'd be delighted to have him back.

There's no guarantee he'll have any top flight offers after his time at St Johnstone.

It's been so long I don't remember - did he actually try to resign after the playoff defeat and DDF refused to accept it, or was that later?

He was on the radio within minutes of full-time saying that he wouldn’t be resigning.

He had previously said that he would resign if we didn’t win promotion, but later used the removal of the second automatic promotion place and it’s replacement by the playoff to retreat from that.

Look at her riding pillions on Davy’s sea-bike, carrying an apoplectic macaw in a silver hoop. Oh, Morton, let’s go there this winter!  Or learning the Japanese chinchona from that Kobe group, in a dress that looks like a blowtorch rising from one knee, and which should sell big in Texas. Morton, is that real fire? Happy, happy little girl!

I was sure there were two declined resignations before Rae finally accepted it after the Clyde game. One was after the 6-1 defeat at Livingston, was there another that season or am I getting my wires crossed with McInally deciding not to after Peterhead and Rae only actually rejected his resignation once?

Wasn’t the second one after the game at East End Park?

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

I don’t think he offered his resignation twice, but stated that he would resign if we failed to win promotion in 2006. That of course, didn’t happen but whether he went back on his word or the board dissuaded him I suppose we’ll never know.

I’m sure you’re right about him offering his resignation after that Livingston game though.

Jim McAlister freed by Blackpool.

Must be a fair chance that at least one of Millar/McAllister will end up back at Cappielow...
