What I picked up at the Q&A was it was over the 28 days to get compensation from Scottish clubs but under the 60 days to get it from elsewhere. Both agents then said if they don't do deals (a 50% sell on was negotiated for both) then they'd just take them to England instead so we'd have nothing and a bad reputation of not letting players move..

I know it’s the club’s logic rather than yours personally, but I absolutely hate this.

If you’re setting out the youth system as the future of the club, what’s the more damaging reputation to have? That we’ll fight for what we’re actually due for players who are moving on and some players might be upset by this, or that we’ll crumble and make things as easy for other clubs as possible in any negotiation?

Yeah, good luck getting good  fees in future having shown how much of a soft touch we are.

If the choice was between waiving our right to compensation or blocking players signing for other Scottish clubs as they were unwilling to pay a fee, we should absolutely have blocked it. If that means players end up on the scrapheap then tough, we’re a professional football club and can’t go around throwing money on a bonfire. If it meant them going to England instead then fine, they’re not going to our direct competitors that way.

He said it. I'm sure i posted it on here whilst at the Q&A. Before the tele reported it a few weeks later.

Fair enough. There should have been checks in there but it could have been down to whoever done the paperwork's incompetence and they might have been disciplined.

We got lucky this time but this kind of thing shouldn't happen.

It says a lot about Scottish football that Hawke got voted onto the SPFL Board as a Championship representative considering the skills he's shown as CEO here.

I'd love to have you both for dinner

That would be my point.

You could go round in circles arguing over what we did our didn't lose. The issue is the error itself.

Just to add - we haven't produced a potential thousands to be made over compensation yet. We're not even at the stage.

They did say thousands. Not tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, just thousands.

Bang average players go for thousands all the time, normally undisclosed.

Like we paid for Gary Oliver, Tony Wallace etc.

It cost us thousands.

Spent 4 years getting my nephew and his mates coming along to cappielow instead of ibrox with his granda. Told me last night that he doesn’t want to come back.Really pushed to encourage him as it would of meant so much to my own dad that his grandson supported the ton. Sad times. If we do go down don’t think I could stomach a league 1 campaign and having gone to most games for 30 years it is the first time I have felt as disappointed as this.

What are the board expecting at this point? I actually do hope we’re not getting rid because of the money, and not because they actually see some sort of way back from this situation.

If they still have any faith in him to build a team in his own image, on a smaller budget, in whatever division we might actually be in then they’re even more incompetent than I thought.

The relationship between the management and the fans is toxic. Also looks like the players aren’t even behind them.

Regardless of cost saving this simply can’t continue. So why wait until the end of the season to address it when it will most certainly mean League 1 football for the next manager to contend with.

Looks like he isn't being sacked given no announcement today. Its hard to see what the logic in this is.

Don’t think we train on a Wednesday. If he takes them tomorrow we’re fucked.

Wednesday was the normal day off under Duffy. I don't know much about Johansson's training schedule but I think it's different from Duffy's.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

A couple of seasons ago my sons went to every home game. The turnstiles fiasco last season and dire standard of football have seen them lose all interest. Managed to persuade both to come along on Tuesday, for only the second time this season... doubt they'll be back anytime soon!

All things Morton summed up for me on Tuesday night, when the youngest asked for money for a bar of chocolate. Came back a couple of minutes later empty handed - 'They didn't have anything left'.

The club can't even do the most basic of things correctly...

Maybe if you’d taken your brood to games that had some live TV coverage, a big crowd, an atmosphere and a bit of a buzz about it, rather than whining about the nasty songs the opposing fans sing and a bit of publicity about it they might have taken an interest in Morton.

They might also not hate you as much.
