SPFL Clubs to Vote

Recommended Posts

I can see why people feel Brora and Kelty have been hard done by in a way SPFL clubs in playoff places haven't. The SPFL clubs who have missed out on playoffs had the opportunity to gain automatic places by being better and getting themselves top - Falkirk complaining about the injustice of missing out by a point when they've taken 0 points from 9 against Clyde is a cheek - whereas Brora and Kelty had no means of gaining automatic promotion, so missing out is entirely outwith their hands.

Obviously there's no practical way to play the playoffs or promote both of them so they do just have to lump it like everyone else in playoff positions. The notion that treating these playoff places the same as the rest is a conspiracy orchestrated by Brechin is laughable nonsense and it was embarrassing that fans were failing to grasp the reason Brechin weren't relegated, never mind making it into the ICT statement. No surprise it's the club run by that utter moron Gardiner that does it if any of them were going to though. It does show the urgency of changing that setup to get the side bottom of League Two relegated automatically in future.

The most brazen and self-interested comments in the whole episode have been from the Stenhousemuir Chairman, who argued that relegation from League Two should be scrapped completely for two seasons to allow to clubs time to stabilise, while simultaneously trying to accuse Premiership clubs of self-interest over financial distribution. League Two clubs as a whole have been guilty of more self-interest than anyone else here and that shouldn't be forgotten whenever reconstruction debates come up again over the next few years.

FWIW going by the Lowland League Chairman's comments on Sportsound on Saturday the SPFL board and Ken Ferguson of Brechin have been behaving appallingly towards the LL & HL this season, but that's an entirely separate issue to how the SPFL are ending the season.

Dunfermline statement in response to ICT yesterday names us, Arbroath, Alloa & Queen of the South along with them as the five clubs who said that if the resolution had failed with null and void being the alternative they would seek an equal distribution of prize money among the division. Rightly so.

I'm happy for the club to stay quiet and avoid getting drawn into the wider he said she said spat about this, but it's good to know we were on the side of common sense at every step.

Hopefully that nails once and for all the stupidity of Gardiner.

That says the plan would have cost ICT money but fails to mention Gardiner still wanted 2nd place prize money for the season he wanted voided.

Peter Weatherson is the greatest player since Ritchie, and should be assigned 'chairman for life'

Nine championship clubs opposed the inquiry!! So one of Partick or ICT voted against it?!

Partick probably confirmed as League 1 now with Raith being considered Championship!

Even typing it sounds glorious!

Sone on P&B hinting that his real agenda was not having Celtic declared league winners.

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

Wouldn't surprise me as it's no secret that his first love is ibrox.

I've no idea of the guys personal background, but I could spot that a mile off. There is no shortage of Harry Dunn's in and around every other club in Scotland.

I still think the whole thing with Dundee needs an explanation.

They should never have been allowed to change their vote because the first one was lost, escpailly when it was then later found, and if you were going to allow someone to change vote then the current vote standing should never have been made public which put Dundee in a crazy position of them have the abolsute power to end all 4 leagues in Scotland.

Obviously something has been given to then to change from a no to a yes, because there was zero incentive for them to end the league early when they were in a play off position.

That's what really needed a proper investigation in my view.

Im making perfect sense, your just not keeping up.
