I dunno, I think a future King of England calling a large part of his population *racial slur removed* and ragheads is maybe of significance.

Is he in the minority or majority with his outlook?

I'm pretty certain they don't like being called *racial slur removed* and Ragheads, beermonkey. I think that's the crux of the matter, mate! :)

What if he'd said *potential ethnic slur removed* or yid or something? Would that have changed things in your eyes?

Nope, i hate all this PC s***, people come from certain places people are certain coulors & certain religions and yet we're not allowed to mention it, I've seen and heard the phrases paddys, yanks, sassenachs frogs, krauts, taffys, jocks ect ect, why are they less offensive to the pc brigade than calling someone from pakistan a *potential ethnic slur removed* ? simple, cos they relate to white people mainly and you cant be racist to white people.

I use the word *potential ethnic slur removed* regularly, so what, i make no apologies for it & i wont stop using it cos some do-gooder whines about it.

f*** POLITICAL CORRECTNESS !!!!

Perhaps with yourself, Beermonkey, yes. An older gentleman than Prince Harry, if you bear with me here.

My father calls Asian people *racial slur removed*, occasional other terms to other races. It's just his West of Scotland background. They go for a chinky on a Sat night, etc.

I personally don't like these phrases, but of course I know my parents aren't bad people and it's just the way they are. Same with older workmates.

I just don't think it is right that a young man in authority like Prince Harry is still coming out with this stuff.

People certainly are from different races and backgrounds and are different colours, but we are allowed to mention it, of course we are. They are fine with that too.

I think its when they get called stuff that is an offensive name to them. People from India, say, get called *racial slur removed*. Have you ANY idea how offensive that is on so many levels? :)

I personally am raging if I'm on holiday abroad and someone calls me English, never mind that!!! :)

Yep that's why i do it.

But what makes me laugh about this prince harry thing is that the guy (the pak1 :)) hasn't even complained about it, once again it's the old pc nutjobs wanking themselves silly cos it's a royal.

It's a word that's used everyday by millions of people and it's not going away, the sooner people realise that the better.

It is dying out though, as Donga pointed out it's a generational thing. Most folk above 50 or so still use it, but generally without malice. It has however in the last 20 years or so been used by many as a racial slur, so most folk now recognise that it's offensive.

The fact that you don't find the word 'pak1' offensive is irrelevant because it's not aimed at you so it's not your place to decide.

The very fact is that the vast majority of Asian people find it offensive because it's often used as a racial slur means that it is. And for a high level member of the Royal Family to use it is therefore outrageous.

Mate, I have tolerance for people who hate all the political correctness, and sometimes over top nature of it, I sure do. But you are going the opposite way?

If i made any comments like that towards colleague's of mine then i would be up on a Court Marshal and sentenced, and most probably to the Glass house then discharged.
