That’ll be the ‘serious debate’ that you were just pining for put off the table, once your gubbins scheme has been filed in the bin where it belongs and you don’t have a comeback.

Oh dear, what a shame - never mind.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

The time when positivity was at its highest was when DDFR stepped in to save the club. The level of goodwill was almost tangible, the Trust was born and fans came forward to offer help. I struggle to think of many other clubs who could so quickly turn a positive into a negative. Yes DDFR was the main benefactor but almost exclusively in pursuit of his vanity projects and in so doing saddling the club with an enormous debt mountain. As for the Trust, the less said the better - after that experience how many fans would pay monthly dues? The Raes and the Trust are the main reason why so many fans feel disengaged from the Club. Yet again though those that failed look to the fans for the answer. Is it really too much for the fans to expect a modicum of professional governance and some ambition translating into an entertaining product on the park?

I don't have the answer but as a contribution, I would suggest:

- The Rae family under the umbrella of GC has to accept they are not going to get their money back.

- Hawke is much too divisive an individual and should not be part of the answer.

What really is a shame, is that when it comes to any discussion, your fallback position when people disagree or ask you for your solution to any situation you attempt to belittle what they have to say. Your post all tend to end the same way.

"thanks for playing"

"Oh dear,what a shame"

and so on and so forth.

Only trying to get some serious debate going on about the future of the club. I know getting serious on here is a bit of stretch as the usual suspects then bring down the tone of the discussion to their own level.

But if we really want a successful club then we need to look at all the options for the future and stop looking at and pointing the finger at the Rae's mismanagement over the last 19 or so years. You can't turn back the clock.

I'm not a bellend. :crying:

I've responded to your "serious debate" several times and you've completely ignored it. You don't owe me a response, of course, but if you were actually interested in debate you'd at least give it some thought. You're interested in running interference for the Raes' failures and always have been, and I doubt I'm alone in just wanting you to be honest about that. Just admit you're here to help them get "their" money back, rather than discuss sustainability or whatever, and that is a starting point for good-faith discussion.

I doubt more than a few dozen people would contribute to your weird little slush fund, incidentally.

I'll respond once I have sorted through your posts.

Partick 1-0 Dundee Utd

Does no one want to win this league at all?

McGhee needs some support, there's no-one backing him up.
Hayes playing it forward, Bell being forced to do it all alone, now forward from Marr, here's Ritchie, still Andy Ritchie, look at the control...

That is a marvellous goal from Andy Ritchie. Twenty minutes on the clock and Morton's supporters come alive. A goal which epitomises the control, the arrogance, the cheek of Andy Ritchie.

It's something many people (yourself included?) said was likely to happen. My question is, surely he knew it was going to happen? That after he was gone, those in control of GC didn't share his desire to keep subsidizing a hopeless football team? If he did know it, what steps if any did he take to ensure Morton wouldn't just have the rug pulled from under them? If he didn't know it, why the hell not?

I'm assuming you mean this post?

Good question. Dougie at one point did say that he didn't want Crawford to be lumbered with the losses that he himself was prepared to cover. Which makes it more disturbing that knowing that and probably guessing that Crawford would pull the plug that not enough was done to correct the situation.

We all know that Morton needs investment and revenue from other sources to survive never mind compete and not to invest in that is probably Dougie's biggest failing.

I don't see Crawford doing anything to help that situation and in fact by his recent statement will only exacerbate the position the club finds itself in.

Hence we need a whole different approach to how the club is owned and operated if we are not to end up playing in league 2 .

Jonathan does a great job, but my reading of it is as communications officer they’re expecting him to do pretty much everything. Website, social media, interviews, marketing etc as well as other admin duties. We don’t have a defined social media/marketing strategy and it’d be unreasonable to expect one guy to deal with all of it. The club could look at hiring someone to deal with strictly marketing, but it’s highly unlikely at the minute. We’re still miles behind lots of other clubs when it comes to things like this.

Yes. Believe he had to buy his own camera stand and mic for the interviews he does and that Hawke and co have never bothered to acknowledge that aspect.

Basically, he's been going over and above at his own expense because he loves the club.

TIME FOR CHANGE!
