Chinese Coronavirus threatens Dundee Utd game

According to some BBC reporter, football’s done up here until September at the earliest and we’ll just be finishing on the current standings. Financially, terrible, but if it actually keeps Falkirk down, relegates Partick and gives Celtic a “tainted” title then I’ll begrudgingly accept it.

No football for 6 months sounds horrendous but the thought of Partick being sent packing early and Falkirk being forced to stay down there for another year softens the blow a wee bit. F*ck the pair of them.

When's the last time an insurance company paid out without a fight?

For me, 2010 and 2015, two travel insurance claims went remarkably smoothly.

I can name them by date and incident because I was so shocked at how easy and helpful the whole process was.

Every other claim I've ever been party to has been a right mission.

The difference this time is that we're in the midst of a Happening, and the political costs of intransigence will be considerable.

This. It’s also Scotland, we have about 3 days of summer in a good year.

Agreed. It’s hard enough to get people to go to games in winter when there’s fuck all else to do; trying to get them on the handful of good weekends of summer would be even worse.

Same goes for televised stuff too. It’s much better to have it spanning the shite weather.

Surprised the Summer Football scenario hasn't been brought up anywhere.

Could be perfect time to move to it. Can extend this season right out to November then start next season from March 2021. Only sticking point could be player contracts.

I for one would be all for it as would a lot of Scottish clubs I imagine.

With climate change etc. We are being warned of heatwaves like we've had in recent years becoming the norm. Fuck playing or even watching football in that.

August - Early May, that's the season. Some midweek games when we have light nights and mild weather, sensible challenge Cup and league Cup tournaments and a few fine tweaks and the games perfect.

What does 'some BBC reporter' know what the rest of Scottish football - chairmen, directors, managers and players - doesn't know at this point. It is sheer speculation until decisions about this are made for definite.

it'd be excellent of the season was void and we all just started again. Celtic don't get 9 in a row, Falkirk stay doon and Dundee Utd get shafted again.

Would rather Hearts were relegated for a good away day and Partick sent packing - with Falkirk being kept down for another year.

A few dream and nightmare scenarios to be had out of this, depending on the decisions. Dundee United don't upset me enough for me to wish ill on them. I can see one up and one down from each division other than League Two, but surely they can't award titles. Why Celtic, who unsurprisingly are the ones greeting about it more than anyone else, would want the title by default is beyond me. Teams win titles, they aren't awarded them. If it was us, I'd feel a bit embarrassed being crowned champions on a technicality.

The positives;

Celtic denied the title that they seem to have forgotten they haven't won yet.

The Murderers are denied their first Premier League title in 30 years.

Dirty Leeds are denied yet another promotion to the Premier League.

Hearts go down and we finally get an away day at Tynecastle.

Partick Relegated.

Falkirk remain in League One for another year, and with Partick down, it'll make it more difficult for one of them to return.

Poor Raymond doesn't get a shot at shot at the League Two play offs and promotion with Queen's Park.

Michael Tidser is left to spend the whole of next season slumming it about playing Civil Service Strollers and Edinburgh University.

The negatives;

No chance of St. Mirren coming down.

League reconstruction takes Ayr into the Premier League.

As above, but for Falkirk into the Championship, saving Partick into the bargain.

We won't see Jim McInally fucking up another play off campaign.

Brechin are spared being emptied into the Highland League.

Sheffield United are denied their assault on the Champions League.

Any others that anyone can think of?

I'd love Thistle to be sent packing to the abyss, but if it means Falkirk and celtic - the two most hard-done by clubs in Scottish football they'd have you believe - both lose out i'd be delighted.

Can't wait for Celtic's first "everyone at Celtic is deeply saddened....." post.

Just hand Liverpool and Leeds the titles respectively. Great clubs.

Edit: the green dot applies to all bout the Liverpool and Leeds comments.

Celtic can have their tainted title and their 9 in a row which they deem of far bigger concern than a worldwide pandemic - if they put £10 million into a fighting fund to be used to safeguard the survival of clubs that may be pushed to the wall if there is a prolonged shutdown.

That money would be put to better use compensating their victims.

The only thing that will have tainted that title is how badly Ranger’s arses collapsed again after the winter break.

Good luck with that, given that the conditions that the clubs signed up to give the league authorities carte blanche to do whatever they want in this situation.

Get them doon.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

I think that relegation will be good for Hearts in much the same way it was for Thu Hubs a few years back.
