Lamie was poor for his first season when stuck at left back then improved from then on when played in his natural position. Holding that first season against him is like holding O’Ware’s performances at full back under Moore against him when he also improved significantly over the years when played at centre back - just not to anywhere near the same level as Lamie.

Lamie was at the club for at least 2 and a half years before he became one of the first choice centre backs, though. It's the fact that Lamie has continued to progress that has him beyond the likes of O'Ware now (and it was only in his final season with us did Lamie begin to progress beyond O'Ware, IMO).

Lamie definitely wins best continuous progression, and there's a good argument for having him in there, but it took a long time for him to progress to being a first pick in his position.
