Craig Gordon Supports Team Gb

Recommended Posts

Craig Gordon yesterday became the first player within the Scotland set-up to break rank and voice his support for a British football team at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Gordon, the Scotland and Sunderland No.1, has revealed that he has no such problems about backing a bid. "I don't see any reason why not," he admitted.

nowhere in the article does Craig say he is proud to be British.

what Craig says:

There are difficulties with the different football associations in Britain, but I don't see any reason why that can't be overcome. The team would be dominated by English players, but there would be a few others in there. It would be a good team."

What you see is merely ONE player expressing his views that it may not be such a bad idea however you seem to be blowing out of proportion and using it as an excuse for you to get your fantasy of a "happy clappy" union

"I’m a simple man. I like pretty, dark-haired women, and breakfast food."

Craig Gordon can get tae f*** then. If he genuinely supports a Team GB then, in my eyes, he's a bigger turncoat than Aiden McGeady.

Nice overreaction there.

I reckon he's keeping things happy happy while he's down in England making his money.

Not an overreaction, just my thoughts on the matter. If he wants to play for "Team GB" then he can have his Scotland caps posted to him down in Sunderland because he shouldn't get another.

It is possible to be proud of being Scottish and British too. I don't like this anti-British Olympic football team movement. Could deny a lot of players a once in a lifetime opportunity to win a gold medal and play in a massive sporting event.

I am for it.

Who exactly wants this british team anyway? seriously? The English dont need us, and the welsh and irish would have less players in the squad than us for f@ck sake. I couldn't get behind a British team at all, even though i think patriotism is a bit, well, silly. Your mam and dad just f@cked here.

I want a pretentious signature too.

There isn't a Scttish Olympic team though so it would be denying them the chance to compete at the London Olympics.

But there would be if there wasn't a British one... DUH

Yeah, but right now they would just go on as normal and select players from England, Wales and Northern Ireland as part of a British team meaning the Scots would just be left watching on the telly, they won't suddenly create a Scottish O;ympic team simply because the SFA won't allow Scottish players to play as part of a British team.

Or am I missing something here?
