Cheers.
Never actually checked the dot situation till I saw this.
Maybe the goons raging I’ve got about 350 more greenies than him.
Or maybe he just doesn’t like me.

I lie awake at night thinking about it.

They vastly increased the prize money at our level, and we now have an improved TV deal. If I was the SPFL (which admittedly is little more than the sum of its members) I'd be telling Morton and QoS to piss off.

This. The current league structure isn’t changing and there isn’t much need to do so. Last thing we need is the top flight flooded with even more s***e like ourselves and QOTS.

#1112740 The Tidser Thread

Posted by TheGoon on 02 March 2019 - 03:32 PM

Been thinking a fair bit about this shambles this morning. I don’t even know how exactly I feel. Gutted our best player is going, angry that it’s to a football club I absolutely despise - but I just don’t feel any animosity towards Tidser. Hypocritical perhaps, because if it’d been literally any other player I’d be joining in with calls for them to be punted to the reserves for the rest of the season, but I canny with Tidser. Firstly, the team badly needs him. Secondly, he’s been my favourite Morton player for years, and I’d like to believe the financial security Falkirk are supposedly offering was too good to turn down. I can’t criticise someone for putting their family first.

You’d hope if there was only a couple hundred quid between us, Tidser would still stick with Morton, but by all accounts they’ve blown us out of the water. There could be other factors too of course, ambition and playing under a semi-competent manager. Suspect that’ll all come out soon enough if it is the case.

Falkirk are always going to have more money than us, a bigger support and subsequently a better chance of success, but my god is it depressing losing our best player in decades to them, especially there’s a very real chance of them playing in League 1 next season. As others have said on here before though, even if they go down, you’d probably still back them to reach the Premiership before us.

All I can really do is hope the move is a disaster, that Tids never recaptures the form he had at the start of the season and he and Falkirk achieve **** all. He’ll probably come back in a few years, and we’ll probably still be finishing 8th in this godforsaken division.

Tl;dr - brb crying.

Scunnered, feels like a loss. I knew when they went down to 10 it’d make hee haw difference, 100% ****ing correct. Even Duffy wasn’t that bad with substitutions, could see with about half an hour to go they were needed and he did nothing. Thomson did well tonight, but he was dead at about 70 minutes and stayed on, very annoying.

Our set pieces were shocking tonight, every corner was the same. Tumilty going forward as well, Jesus wept.

QOTS was a fluke.

Tidser to volley the ball into his own net before tearing off his shirt to reveal a Falkirk one underneath. The New World Order of Scottish lower league football brother.

Thomson is and has been playing injured for a while now, was happy to see him actually make a positive contribution.

We’ll end up winning this, losing on Friday and carry on sinking.

So anyone that’s had a long playing career in Scotland is more likely to be managerial material than a coach doing reasonably well overseas?

Hopkin was my choice in the summer and I’d happily have him just now, I’m not sure if he’d still be willing to come near us though. Will likely still have his sights set on more money in England.

We are heading for League one which reduces the calibre of Manager who would be interested.

I know controversial but I wouldn’t be disappointed if it was Yogi Hughes.

Neither would I, I’d be ****ing seething.

Tidser owes us nothing. For all we know, Falkirk could be offering him the best deal out of anyone, in fact they could be the only ones. It’s a short career, I place much more blame on Morton/JJ than I do him.
