Just watched the post match interview and was surprised to hear Johansson say that one of his remits when he got the job was to get the budget down and the squad smaller. He arrived about 4 games in to the season so I guess that three year plan was given up on pretty quickly.

It seems the three-year plan was just a ruse to sell season tickets on the back of a new era at the club. Things have once again reverted back to the way they were before.

I can’t believe we need to cut the budget.

Maybe if we got compensation for out of contract players and two cup runs we could have been ok

A joke. Crawford needs to sell up if he is not interested as something not right if we are over budget.

Morton are going to do nothing under the current regime, being a mid-table Championship team is as good as it's going to get for us.

Really do start to wonder what Warren Hawke is actually bringing to Morton? He is no doubt very well paid, that's money that could be going to the budget for players...

The John Wilson Era is back in full flow.

That is on of the more interesting JJ post-match interviews. JJ confirms he was brought in on the basis there is no more money and new players will only be funded from releases from the squad he inherited. JJ is clearly not happy with the squad. JJ setting up with five at the back is because he does not have enough belief in the players to play a back four. JJ believes for the last two games we were solid and in control only losing due to individual mistakes. Overall happy with our league position and inferring that is the extent of our ambition. Understands the fans frustrations but get used to it!

Having watched the interview again interesting to hear JJ happy with how we passed the ball well from side to side but not happy with the continued passing the ball back. JJ maintained the instruction was to go forward but a lack of quality and/confidence meant some players scared to take responsibility. During the game, I did see Houston giving Tumilty, Kilday and Tidser dogs abuse for 'negative' passing.

What a depressing time to be a Morton fan. We need new owners as a matter of urgency. I can't believe Crawford will be too chuffed with JJ for divulging the information about the budget/player situation. I'm not chuffed with being lied to either with regards the 3 year plan to get us to the Premier league. He's taken us all for mugs, not that I fully believed him in the first instance.

I don't think JJ is up to it but after that interview you have to wonder whether he has an arm tied behind his back. Perhaps if we had a CB more capable than the two donkeys that are Kilday and Buchanan then JJ might be able to play the system he wants. Personally, however, fit me the embarrassment he has brought to us doesn't buy him any time to work it out.

How come Waddell gives away goals, gets sent off, and kicks the ball into his own net but manages to avoid most of the criticism?

Sorry I just picked them two because they are actually ours, Waddell would be no bad backup whereas the other 2 shouldn't be anywhere near fulltime football

Did McKinnon leave as he was sold a promotion plan but Mid table on a shoe string budget was the reality?

I just wonder if McKinnon had other targets to finish the squad and Rae has said no.

Depressing.

Agreed, Waddell’s been the worst of the three in the last month or so.

Johansson’s post-match comments are starting to veer towards John Hughes at Raith style dismissals of the squad as terrible when he’s got to continue working with them. That always ends well.

It’s all well and good for him to say he’s taking responsibility, but if he then claims the defeats in the last two games are just down to individual defensive errors rather than our opponents being the better team over the course of 90 minutes then he’s actually not accepting any responsibility for the root cause of the defeats at all.

Fair enough.

FWIW I think Waddell is a promising young defender at this level, but makes far too many errors at this stage. He seems to get caught a bit flat footed too often. We can't really afford those (very) rough edges to his game when Kilday and Buchanan have also been so poor.

And we saw how that turned out. Some are far too easily writing off the prospect of us being dragged into the relegation fight but on recent performances, that could very easily become reality.

With each passing week I'm starting to understand why the cunt bailed on us.

Has the phrase '3 year plan' even been uttered since Dougie died? Genuine question.

We have hardly heard a peep from Crawford since Dougie died bar a few statements against the snake, a quote on the JJ appointment article (not even the in person appointment publicity that he did with JJ) and a comment on the takeover rumours.

His outlook could have changed completely since Dougie died. Not great when you have sold a vision and generated increased season ticket sales or the radio silence if the plan had changed.

Phrases like 'we were lied to' maybe a bit over the top though.

We had a 5 year plan that materialised to nothing.

3 year plan that is already failing.

A stand we bought from our rivals were at the AGM/share issue we were told it would be going up.

Various other broken promises.

Obviously we were lied to if JJ after match comments about streamlining is to be believed. I just wish McKinnon would come out and tell us the reasons why he left I was one of his biggest critics but it would be interesting.

It's perfectly conceivable that we could be dragged into a relegation scrap. If Alloa and the Snake's newly built Grangemouth team start picking up points (as they have been) then we could be looking at 9th. I have absolutely no faith in the board, the directors or the manager to turn this around.

I said after the home game against Alloa that this is going to be a three manager season and we're going to finish below Grangemouth, and now that's looking like a sad reality.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

But was enough for Me & for Me He has no interest in the Club or its Supporters & if anyone things He has well there kidding themselves on could not even be arsed going to the Game Yesterday He was ill apparently?? The truth is beginning to come out time for Him to go!!!

If he’s been told to reduce the budget we might as well shut the doors unless a new regime wants in. 3 year plan down the drain after 6 months.

I’ve completely switched off Morton since JJ came in.
