If Gaston gets another contract next year it will just show the lack of ambition -

Seriously, is Gaston bedding your ex or something? The only time you make an appearance on here is to slate Gaston.

You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks!

Good riddance to a total liability. That ‘competition for places between the sticks’ idea has proven - as was predicted using fact-based analysis at the time - to have been a pointless waste of resources.

The site is supposed to be a place for the extended 'family' of Morton supporters - having an affinity with people that you don't know, because you share a love of your local football club. It's not supposed to be about point scoring and showing how 'clever' or 'funny' you are, or just being downright rude and offensive to people you don't know, because you can get away with it. Unfortunately, it seems the classic case of people who have little standing/presence in real life, use this forum as a way of making themselves feel as if they are something. It's sad, and I've said that before..

So, having been on Morton forums for about 15 years I guess, I've had enough... well done t*ssers, another Morton supporter driven away. You can all feel happy at how 'clever' you are

Gaston is a perfectly decent goalkeeper at our level and if we do sign someone better a very able replacement if needed.

‘Perfectly decent at our level’ = first team player for a midtable side and nothing more. If you are serious about challenging for promotion then you need upgrade in that key position; and given the limitations of our budget you will not get a better goalkeeper and build the rest of the team properly if you’re handing out a first team level contract deal to a backup option as well.

We’ve have literally just dealt with the failures caused by your line of thinking in the summer of 2018. It’s time to be far more ruthless in our transfer dealings if the club is ever going to achieve its stated ambitions.

I thought Scully was alright tbh, not good enough to be in the Tele moaning, but a decent enough keeper at this level. An uograde on him (and Gaston) is required if we’re ever serious about going anywhere though.

As we can see once again in the startlingly prescient hot take of yours truly on the day that Scully signed:

A player that Partick fans were happy to see away. Underwhelming.

We'd have done better by targeting one quality target instead of having competition between two average options.

Sadly, not all of us are able to use award-winning, fact-based analysis to predict events successfully though. Here's another, somewhat less successful verdict on a flapping mess who would last seven months at the club before getting punted:

Solid enough signing.
