AyrshireTon
January 28th - 2017 - Ayr United 1-4 Morton (Forbes 2, Oliver 2) Game was live on BBC Alba. http://youtu.be/saZ2aInUpqg 2012 - Queen of the South 2-1 Morton (Campbell) 2008 - Gretna 0-3 Morton (Weatherson 2, Millar) Scottish Cup. The draw gave us Queen of the South at home, prompting questions about the venue had we lost this tie. Game was played at Palmerston and the next round venue became irrelevant as we outplayed a hapless Premier League outfit. Game was on the radio too. It would be our last ever meeting with Gretna. 2006 - Ayr United 1-1 Morton (Weatherson) Glorious stuff. Ayr took an early lead and wasted every second they could from then on. The referee was not having it and added on the lot, prompting absolute #scenes upon #scenes next to the exit when Peter Weatherson equalised at 5pm. http://youtu.be/fw09EuEOscQ A shot of the scenes 1997 - Morton 4-0 Arbroath (Lilley, Blair, Hawke, Cormack) Scottish Cup replay. AyrshireTon
January 28th - 1995 - Kilmarnock 0-0 Morton Scottish Cup. Great showing from the team. http://youtu.be/tPiVaULForc 1989 - Morton 0-0 Airdrieonians Scottish Cup. For a goalless draw, this was a pretty decent end to end game. Should have won it, though. 1981 - Heart of Midlothian 1-3 Morton (Tolmie, Rooney, Thomson) Scottish Cup replay. The draw gave us Aberdeen at home..... http://youtu.be/8sL4pAohJtU 1975 - Airdrieonians 0-0 Morton Scottish Cup. 1967 - Morton 0-1 Clyde Scottish Cup. Pretty drastic headline. Eslewhere, the headlines were being made at Sheilfield as Berwick put Rangers out of the cup, a mere three years after the visitors had tried to put them and five others out of the League completely. 1961 - Morton 2-3 Dumbarton (Craig, Goldie) 1956 - Hamilton 5-1 Morton (Gibson) 1950 - Ross County 0-3 Morton (Orr, Alexander Farquhar) Scottish Cup. AyrshireTon
January 29th - 2014 - Morton 1-1 Queen of the South (Campbell) Rearranged game from the original which was abandoned. The draw gave us Aberdeen away. A dramatic night as we went behind then scored either side of half time. The rest of the game is spent at the far end as Raith laid seige to our goal, with the referee seemingly adding time on to let them score. Alexander finished a bearaway move and the whistle went. Also, fans were put in the wrong ends for this game. 1983 - Alloa Athletic 1-2 Morton (Hutchison, McNab) Scottish Cup. The draw gave us St. Mirren at home. 1974 - Morton 0-0 Raith Rovers a.e.t.
