  1. I'm not raging we didn't offer him something but I wouldn't have been raging if we had. Seemed like the sort of young player with potential that Duffy specialises in, and that is reflected in his NI call-up, but I presume Duffy has someone better in mind.
  2. Good for him. Still slightly surprised we didn't offer him a contract.
  3. Last one to the pie shop gets no salt on their chips?
  4. Depending on how many we can afford, personally I'd say the following is the priority: 1st - Defensive Midfielder (which would mean we then had 4 OK-ish CBs to choose from) 2nd - Full Back (either side - I think Russell's great, but we leak goals down his side of the pitch especially early in the game) 3rd - perhaps another striker, although I think the first 2 come well ahead of a striker
  5. Good for him - as I said, he can face Declan at the derbies
  6. He'll be able to face up to Declan McManus in the great Fylde Coast Derby then ...
  7. Worked with a guy who always arranged for someone to phone him if the questions got difficult.
  8. Might not be the view of the majority on here, and I expect to be written off as a happy clapper, but actually I thought the whole game turned on that rotten penalty decision. Up to then we'd been better than previous games, may be didn't look likely to score but Dumbarton didn't particularly either. Then we get a poor refereeing decision, have to chase the game, and concede another (late) goal. Without a poor decision, might have ended up 0-0, and I'd have seen that as progress (of a sort ...); in fact the bad luck was coumponded by the fact that Caraux's great save didn't just go out for a corner.
  9. Even those of us who went to the matches haven't seen any of those ...
  10. The Scandinavian countries have a rather different approach to retirement. From memory the retirement age is at least 70, but a lot of people go gradually more part time through their 60's and into their 70's. This suits both employer and employee - a lot of employers only really need staff for a few hours each day (railways being a good example of this) so a reliable, experienced older person who's happy to come and do a few hours suits them.
  11. I'm happier with Gaston, but he was never as bad as many folk made out.
  12. You've got to admit that a team playing in green and white hoops and changing their name to Celtic Nation (which probably has absolutely no resonance with any fans in the North of England) is a pretty good source for a conspiracy theory though?
  13. A tad unfair - played his heart out for us and deserved his shot at SPL - shame he opted for Accies. He'd be perfect for Sevco I'd say.
